Friday night, oh what a night! So Friday was Seth's birthday. Amanda and I decided to take him out to the safehouse for his birthday. Amanda also invited two of Seth's Carthage friends, which he was unaware of. We were all getting ready to go out to the safehouse, and Amanda and I were somewhat stalling, since we were waiting for Seth's friends to arrive. Seth was outside to warm up the car and ready to leave, trying to rush us along when his friends pulled up. He was good 'n' suprised! Huzzah, it worked!

So we all piled into Seth's car (even though Amanda was the DD for the night) and headed downtown. Let me just say this, Happy Birthday Seth. You owe a case of beer for getting your first ever speeding ticket. On your birthday yay! Yeah, he got pulled over on the way to the bar to celibrate his 24th birthday. His first ever speeding ticket issued, and we continued to the bar. At a bit of a reduced speed. We found some parking downtown, and about a block away from the safehouse which was great. We're heading up and I'm excited because only Amanda and myself have been there before. Seth, Brandon, and Hilary all are newcommers, and if you've ever been to the safehouse you know what that means. Sadly, Amanda told everyone the password, wtf is that shit!?

Anywhoo we just ordered a bunch of appetizers, a few baskets of wings and some motzerella wraps for the five of us. We all ordered drinks and decided to walk around and check out the place. It's a really nice place, all kinds of spy posters and James Bond themed stuff all over the place. Secret passageways and hidden windows and what not. Our food was ready and waiting by the time we got back to the table, so we started to eat and enjoy. Brandon and Hilary also invited another friend of theirs, Meg who had never been to the Safehouse, and was not told the password was just arriving. We could see her in the entrance via the tv's set up at the bar. The table we were at was a bit too small for us already, so we moved to a larger table so there would be room for her, as well as Hoochie who was supposed to be showing up sometime soonish. Meg was trying to hula hoop with her coat on downstairs and eventually they let her in.

So we all ate and had our drinks, Amanda slightly sad because she couldn't drink freely. It was a little bit akward for myself and Amanda, we didn't know Seth's friends at all and it was the four of them pretty much just talking, while me and Amanda talked a bit about this and that and that other thing. I had a cigarette and couldn't decide what I wanted to drink after my first inital whiskey sour's. So when I got back to the table and the waitress asked me if I wanted another drink I said sure. She said same thing? and I responded with naa, suprise me. She asked if I wanted to continue drinking whiskey, and I told her to mix it up. She then made sure that I would drink whatever she brought. I got some tequila drink with peach schnopps and cranberry juice. It was pretty decent. Everyone at the table thought I was nuts for letting the waitress decide my drink. After I finished it, and she came back I asked her for another, something new again. Got some svedka drink with triple-sec i believe.

A pitcher of beer for $4? OK!

Wednesday was pretty calm. I guess Dave hosts 'Microbrew Wednesdays' which is a pretty cool concept. Every Wed he goes out and buys two different microbrews. I was heading home afterwords so I only had one, which wasn't all that good and the general concensus was that the kind I didn't try was better. Bummer I guess. We also watched 'I hope they serve beer in hell' which was the second time I saw it, and still hilarious. Went home after the movie, and went to sleep.

I woke up Thursday morning to a super excited Amanda that I was home. Not quite sure why she was so excited but apparently I'm a sight for sore eyes. I showed up to work to find out a few things. First, it was cold. I guess both of our furnaces went out the day before, when I wasn't in. Second, half of the crap in the office didn't work. The printer, the copier, the fax machine, Stacy's computer, all kinds of stuff wasn't working. We blew a fuse from the space heaters that were littered all over the floor trying to keep some stability and a livable environment in our place of work. Go flip the switch in the fuse box to get the power back, turn on one of those lil space heaters and point it right at me. It was 52 degrees in the office according to that little heating wonder. Now sure 52 sounds great when it's the middle of summer and it's 90 outside and dripping humidity out of everywhere, but when it's 30 outside and 52 inside it's cold. Luckily it wasn't long before the furnace repair man showed up and took care of business.

Rolled on home after work and worked on Dragonheart or DH for short. DH is a MUD I started playing way back in middle school that I heavily developed for the past few years. Recently however I haven't really done anything with it, but yesterday I started really getting back into the swing of things and figured out how to compile the code so yay! OK nerdieness over, for now... But seriously I got to catch up on House MD, and The Big Bang Theory which was good because they were both pretty good episodes. Sam gave me a call and we decided we would go to the bars that night.

Let me just say I spent entirely way too much money last night. I owed Sam from going out on his birthday he loaned me some money since it was the day before I got paid. I stopped at pick'n'save on the way to Sam's and got a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of rum, some sour mix and some squirt. A $55 endeavor before I even got to MU and before even considering going to the bar. Those bottles were not even touched though because there was still a little bit of booze left over from the last time I bought a couple of bottles so that's alright. Had a good strong whiskey sour and a beer at Sam's while fucking around on chat roulette with Joe. Chat roulette is hilarious. You video chat with random people who are also video chatting it's mostly people trying to see boobs, but we find good ways to entertain ourselves. Spent probably 30 minutes asking people if I should grow a mustash purely on the basis of weather or not mustash rides are enjoyable. The general consensus was that I shouldn't though because it wouldn't be worth it. Sam finally got to talk to Shannon, apparently she had gone out and done some work herself on getting good and drunk, so it was something like 5AM her time when they finally got to talk. Once Sam was finished talking to his drunk girlfriend we were ready to rock'n'roll.

We started the night by hitting up Hagardy's, which was kind of lame because it was pretty much dead, and after chat roulette I was in the mood to talk to random people. Got a bucket of 4 domestic beers for $10 (8+2tip) I won rock paper scissors against sam for the 4th beer, since there was three of us and Joe was only 1/2 done with his when me and Sam finished ours. Once we finished our beers we decided to go to Murphy's to see what we could see. At this point I was already fairly buzzed. I didn't really eat much and had 3 beers and a 2 shot drink in a period of an hour and a half or so.

Murphy's had $4 pitchers until midnight, so we got a pitcher and decided to play some pool. I have no idea how much I drank at Murphy's because of a combination of things. Firstly I was just randomly refilling our glasses whenever they started to get a little bit low, so my glass was never below 1/2 which doesn't help for counting how much I drank, also I was starting to get a wee bit drunk. We got three pitchers, the third I managed to get at exactly midnight before they stopped offering, we still had probably 1/2 a pitcher left but hey you can't pass up a deal like that. One of Sam's engineering friends showed up because it was his birthday so once midnight hit they showed up. Sam informed me that he hadn't drank anything before comming to the bar which is no way to spend your 21st birthday, so I decided to buy him a shot. A shot of The Knot for myself and him (another $10), which took entirely way too long to get. Bartenders need to pay more attention to the guys standing at the bar trying to get drinks than the girls who are trying to get guys to buy them drinks damnit. Anywhoo got our shots, did em and I went back to the pool game. Low'n behold Bridget showed up, which is always nice and I did something that I very rarely do. I bought her a drink, well a shot, and I kinda owed her since she's bought me 4 now from the last few times I've seen her at the bar. Normally with BZ it would be a jameson shot, but she had never had The Knot, so went with one of those for each of us (count the $10). Some more pool (5 games I paid for, count $5). At some point after this I lost my ecig. I have no clue where, if I put it down and someone grabbed it or what happened, but before we left the bar I realized I didn't have it, and we all looked and couldn't find it. Hopefully someone picked it up and turned it into the bar, and I'll be able to get it back. If not I'm going to be very sad. I closed out my tab, although this morning I couldn't remember if I did or not, but figured I must have because I have my credit card. $32 for the pitchers and shots, plus whatever I tipped, I have no recolection of this, so I probably tipped 8 bucks to make it an even $40, sounds about right but who knows. I suppose I'll find out soon when it shows up on my online bank statement as "Campus Recreation". We walked Laurel home from the bar, which is like 2 blocks but as I've said before girls shouldn't really walk around town alone at 2AM.

Myself, Sam, and Joe headed back to Sam's to crash. Joe decided to turn on chat roulette once we got into the appartment. I can't say that I'm upset that he did either. The first chat was some cute chika to whom Joe yelled, "Show us your boobs!!" and she complied. She pulled 'em out, rubbed em down, then grabbed her friend who did the same, before the two of em started making out. All the while the three of us were cheering and clapping. A pretty good way to finish off the night I must say. Sam said something about parking tickets and Joe decided he needed to move his car, apparently he has some unpaid tickets that he needs to take care of because if he gets another his car will get toed. At least according to him, which is probably true enough so he said he was going to Louie's for the night, which is a couple blocks away. I have no idea weather or not he should've been driving, but he didn't really drink a whole lot with us, since he said the house beer that we were getting in the pitchers wasn't any good. So he left, and I pretty quickly passed the fuck out. At some point at the bar I set myself a couple alarms on my phone which was good because I woke up this morning.

I didn't need to be at work until 11 because Stacy wanted the afternoon off which worked out well, because if I needed to be in at 8 this morning I probably wouldn't have made it. So I woke up and laid around for 45 minutes, which is how I set my alarms. And bounced on outa there and headed to work. Made it with 8 minutes to spare. Wheee. All in all a good night.

Hooky? I think not.

So it was Sam's birthday. The current count on how many drinks he had when we celebrated the first time was 23-1/2 drinks over a 7 hour period, the first 4 hours were 4 drinks and before he actually turned 21. So I think we did a good job on that. The problem was I had to convince him to come out again on the actual day of his birthday and we didn't get out until nearly 11PM. I changed my work schedule so I wouldn't have to work until 11AM instead of 8 so I could get plenty of sleep and everything. We didn't really get drunk, which is fine. Sam had 21+ drinks during the 24 hour period that was his birthday so we're all set there.

A pretty relaxed day. Went over to Sam's after work all set to get good and drunk again, had work for the next day set and it was time to rock and roll. I was feeling great and wanted to party it up. Get to Sam's he's doing some much needed laundry, including the futon cover. He's being a big bum and still drunk when I showed up. Then he started getting hungover and wouldn't stop complaining about feeling like crap, and how he didn't want to drink. We grabbed some qdoba, and then watched a movie, and relaxed for a while. Sam said he was still feeling shitty after a few hours, and wanted to eat again. We got some jimmy johns and then back to the apartment to await Dave getting off work. Went out to Murphy's for some drinks. Sam and I got some beers, since it was 2 dollar beer night. We then played a game of pool while waiting for Dave. I'm not very good at pool, and Sam has had a table in his house for nearly his entire life so he's halfway decent. I got destroyed. Dave showed up and then we waited for Bridget. It was a bit suspect as to weather or not she would even show up. Apparently Sam and Dave were considering betting on it, but neither of them really thought she would show up. Well she did, and she bought everyone a shot before we left so huzzah! We hung out and played a few games of pool, then decided to leave not too long after midnight when 2 dollar beers ended. Did our shot and went back to Sam's apartment to watch Zombieland, which Bridget hadn't seen yet. Sometimes you just have to introduce people to new good movies. Bridget despite being friends with Sam, Dave, and myself since freshman year had yet to see Sam's new apartment. I blame Kayla....

Watched Zombieland which was hilarious. I had another beer but everyone else apparently was pooped out or something. Dave fell asleep not very long into the movie and there was a debate as to weather or not we should color/put peanut butter on him for passing out with his shoes on. We ended up just leaving him be, but I wont fret. I know there will be plenty more opportunities for that sort of thing. Sam and I decided it was time for sleep after Bridget and Dave left, which was about 5 minutes after the movie ended. It was around 2:30AM so I suppose that makes sense.

I woke up this morning a bit later than intended and rushed out of Sam's place. Went to my car to find out that a winter emergency was declared last night at 8PM and found a parking ticket for $50!? I guess when they declare a winter emergency they don't really fuck around. Cleaned off my car from the snow, threw my crap inside and got in. Turn my key and the engine tried, but didn't quite make it. Gave it another couple goes. It kept getting close but wouldn't quite start. Then my battery decided it couldn't try anymore after a few minutes. Hurray, my car wont start, I'm downtown at MU and don't know anyone else who has a car on campus. Go back to Sam's door, use the intercom to call him, have him come let me in and call work. Explain the situation, which doesn't look good since I'm already running late and I feel like Stacy/Greg are going to think I was playing hooky or something for being hungover, since I requested to change hours today because of Sam's birthday. Hopefully I can work something out and get my car going. I need to go home tonight... it's been since Sunday before the superbowl since I've been home which is no good, and I need some more clothes. The few extra pieces are all a bit dirty at this point.

Who doesn't love crazy magick!?

So my blog is entitled 'Life and its adventures' and yet thus far my blog has been pretty void of a whole lot of adventures. There's a little thing here or there, but nothing too exciting. Well sorry to disappoint because this post is about another thus small thing that's neither really here nor there. So one of my best friends Sam decided that it was about time for him to finally turn 21 and join the rest of the drinkers of the world, the legal drinkers of the world that is. His birthday is today (Feb 9), so happy birthday Sam, but anywhoo this is about yesterday and only a part of this morning, which is still considered last night by most.

I show up at MU to greet Sam and to begin preparing him for his first US legal bar debut. Sam is over at Dave and Bellus's so I go over there, and we hang out for a couple hours until we go to dinner with Momo, and The Bill. Dinner at the Chancery was quite delicious. I got just a simple 1/3lb cheese burger both cheddar and jack, some waffle fries it was glorious. Sam being Sam ordered mac'n'cheese, but hey with a twist, chicken as well in it. Those Chancery worker types decided they would sing some cracked out version of happy birthday in honor of Sam and his birthday. If that wasn't enough of a birthday treat alone they thought it would be prudent to supply the man with his very own cream puff (pouf? kream?). I don't think he really wanted it all that much, but he made sure to eat it down in a matter of about a minute anyway.

With dinner finished, we headed back to MU to really prepare for the night. Bellus decided that he would be lame and bail on us, go home and fall asleep knowing that he didn't help his friend celebrate in the proper fashion. It's alright though since Bellus is yet to be 21 himself I can't blame him for not wanting to stay out only for us to bail on him when we went to the bar. It was about 8:00PM which meant we had 4 hours or so to prepare. Now we started out pretty strong, playing a good game of three cup, we modified the rules a little to allow for three people, and the game was on. Sam being a smart ass thought he would be safe shooting after me, meaning if I made shots he would drink, and not Dave. This did not turn out well for him, I was on my game and shortly he declared himself the bitch. The problem was the game then turned into a one on one of me vs Dave. Sam had made I think 1 cup all night, he was playing horribly so Dave was quite sober and throwing fairly well still, and I was starting to get a good buzz and poor aim. A few 1/2 cup shots made by Dave put me out to nurse my drink for a few minutes to catch back up, thus declaring myself a bitch once I realized Sam was coming back in. Dave did end up winning the game with a full cup made about 10 seconds after Sam opened a full beer, and with myself a bit behind yet on finishing my own drink.

At this point we were all just full of beer, I didn't much want to move at all, my stomach was stretched and I needed to burp, but couldn't make it happen. A horrible horrible feeling. We decided that we would have a throwback to our childhood movie experience while we drank a few more beers before going out, one of those things like watching Heavyweights. This time however we opted for Hook, if there is anyone who thinks this not a great and glorious idea, then you can just go back into your hole and stay in there. Robin Williams is hilarious, and also a damn good actor, now throw in peter pan; you know, flying pixies, lost boys, pirates and you've got yourself a damn good movie. About 1/2 through Joey Jonas sends me a text and comes on down for a short while. Another of those under 21 types so he could only hang out for an hour or so by the time he got down.

I proposed a birthday shot which Sam was trying to refuse for some reason, I don't really understand him not wanting to do a free shot in his apartment before we hit the bar, but Dave helped me to convince him that it was needed. Shots down, and Dave's stomach was up. So while we waited for Dave to finish puking Sam and I threw some balls for three cup. I made the trustee 1/2 cup and decided that since we were just waiting a minute for Dave, opening a full beer wouldn't really be prudent. At that point I decided that I would just pour Sam 1/2 of a shot, and put in a splash of water, so it was the correct volume. Used the whiskey and Dave walked out of the bathroom ready to go. Sam had yet to do his shot. Again we had to convince Sam that it was his duty to drink whatever we gave him, it is after all his 21st birthday and well damn it that's what we get to do to you. It's a few minutes past 12:00AM at this point, so it is officially Sam's birthday, the argument that did finally get him to drink his whiskey water shot as we were walking out the door.

Joey bids us farewell as we leave Sam's apartment building and start walking towards Caffrey's. We make it to the bar, Dave decides that we should do Irish car bombs. Hurray! Car bombs are probably one of the most disgusting drinks that is very popular and I just don't get it. I love Baily's, but not a big Guinness fan. Yeah, yeah I know, "but Kent you're Irish how can you not like Guinness?" Well the plain and simple fact is, Guinness tastes like charcoal. I like Smithwicks a lot, there's a good Irish ale I do enjoy. So bombs away and we're at the bar. Sam has just had his first legal drink at a bar, courtesy of Dave Da-Noog Neugent. Which he will tell you, courtesy of the US-Army, thank you Obama, leader of our Army for Sam's first drink, I know you approve. The bar was fairly empty, and after all it was a Monday night, but low and behold someone found Laurel and she decided to celebrate Sam's birthday with us. Laurel was good friends with our bartender, which was pretty cool because the bartender was damn sexy and Laurel kept her around for a good long while. We got a game of bar dice going, and a couple of other gents down the bar joined in. Neither Sam, nor myself lost a game of dice all night which was great. Dave however did not have such good fortune. I continued to buy Sam shots of The Knot and make sure that he was well supplied with a drink in hand. We managed to play quite a few rounds of dice. I managed to keep myself satisfied with just one beer at the bar for nearly two hours, then again I probably drank more in shots than in beer, and that's straight volume.

We walked Laurel home from the bar, since a 5'5" 100lb girl who is damn drunk walking 4 blocks home at 2 in the morning isn't good. So we drop her off, and head back toward Sam's. Dave's place is on the way so we bid farewell to him and continued our journey to the apartment. We got back and at this point on a scale from 1 being sober and 10 being passed pissing yourself drunk, Sam is at about a 7. A pretty impressive feat since Sam can hold his liquor, but we did give him a whole hell of a lot to hang on to. Somehow he managed to get his keys into the locks and gain us entry to his place, when I say somehow I mean somehow. Luckily this is a very practiced maneuver because otherwise I don't know that we would've gotten in with the way he was functioning.

I was doing pretty well and on that same scale I was approaching a 5. I decided it would be a good time to play a little bit more three cup, although Sam was thinking about going to sleep, I convinced him otherwise. A little bit of three cup really got us ready for bed, and by us I mean Sam. He could hardly hit the table much less get the ball in a cup. I made us some ramen noodles and we devoured those and went to bed. It was about 3:30AM and life was good. I had a few alarms set to wake me up for work and was glad for the great night, and happy for my friend on his birthday.

This is where things got really strange and took not just a turn for the worse, but dove straight into the lion's den. We slept for some unknown time, well I slept for some unknown time, Sam didn't wake up I don't think. Yet somehow he was standing over me and I can only assume very confused even in his sleep. Confused? How could someone be confused in their sleep you might ask. Well here's how I know. He thought that myself and the futon had somehow been magicked into a toilet. I know he thought that because he was treating us thus, and urinating on me. I woke up to this quite promptly, quite upset, granted I moved out of the way very quickly, and realized that my computer wasn't too far out of the danger zone. Incorrect realization, my computer was in the danger zone. I removed the battery as quickly as I could in the pitch black of Sam's apartment. I curled myself up drunk, cold and tired on the safe end of the futon for a short while until I realized there was no way in hell I would get any more sleep, especially with piss on my side. Thankfully t was about 85 degrees in the apartment when we went to bed so I was sleeping in just my underwear, and the rest of my clothes were safe from being soiled. A very good thing because I got up, took a shower, and just put the rest of my clothes on. Still able to make it in to work, quite presentable. Sam didn't know what had happened when I was getting ready to leave shortly after 7:00AM and was a little confused when I was snippy toward him. I'm not all that upset though because we did get him that drunk, and well shit happens, or in this case piss. Despite that it was still a great night, and I'm looking forward to another while it's still his birthday.

So, the weekend... Friday I rolled over to the club to meet up with Brad. Teaching other people how to pack tandems isn't too bad, it's the fact that afterwords I have to repack the tandem for free which sucks. That's just the kinda guy I am though. With a bottle of whiskey and some beer hanging around, we finished up the packing and started on our festivities. Myself a little bit more fervently than Brad since he had to drive back to my house from the club for the night. We were waiting for Amanda's pleasure party to finish up before we could go back, so Brad brought his wii, and we played some Guitar Hero, and some MLB '09.
Hit up the home front around 10pm and continued the getting good and drunk. Watched a few movies, Zombieland and I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. Both of which were pretty damn good.

Woke up a little bit late on Saturday morning, not that I really had to be up, but Brad was supposed to be working at the club at 9. We didn't end up getting to the club until around 9:20 and I fucking forgot my rig at home so I couldn't jump which sucked because it was jumpable both Saturday and Sunday. Grrrrr. Made some money packing some chutes which was good, and managed to get 11 bucks from Sean after he jumped I paid for his jump off of my account, and he gave me the cash which always works nicely. Worked on training Steve, Sean, and Brad on some tandems again which I'm always happy to do, but that was two more tandem pack jobs I did for the price of on the house. I ended up falling asleep on the couch in the Raven's nest after packing one of the tandems and while Steve was practicing with the other one. Lisa woke me up and we hung out for a while watching the end of some movies that were on TV, one of the bring it on movies, and mean girls, both of which have sexy chickas for my viewing pleasure. Finished packing the other tandem, while Derek informed us that he wanted to go to Jersey's to see The Toys, a band that was pretty good and playing at that bar.

We rolled out to the bar with B-Mart as our DD, since he stopped drinking about a year ago. For a little East Troy townie bar it was pretty big, and was packed. Apparently The Toys bring in a big crowd. A slight problem though, I'm fairly certain I was the youngest person in the bar by at least a few years. Now I don't have any qualms hitting on older chicks, but when you go to the bar with 4 guys and a girl, and you're the one out of the age group it doesn't really work out the greatest for picking up chicks. Still it was a fun time, I managed to get pretty well drunk and spent only 15 bucks. Some guy bought me a drink because I gave him my empty glass which he liked and wanted to steal. So I got a free drink from that. Lisa didn't even touch her last drink, so I finished that around the time we were leaving. We managed to convince Lisa to dance on the pole during one of the band's breaks, when the DJ was playing some rap shizzle. We hit up McDonald's on the way home and got some horrid burgers but we were all drunk, so we didn't care too much. I slept horribly that night, on a crappy futon mattress on the floor. I was drunk and didn't even manage to make the whole thing flat, so when I woke up my back was killing me due to the huge bump I left in the mattress just above my hip. I woke up at some unknown time and migrated onto the couch were I went back to sleep for a while. After I finally woke up and got up, there was jumping! I still didn't have my rig, so I couldn't jump. I did manage to get a packjob though which is always nice, to make a couple bucks. Couldn't get cash for it though, so 5 more dollars on my jump account. Eventually went home, showered and it's out and about to MU for the superbowl and who knows what else.

Free Lunch, and Pre-cooked Dinner

Today rolled through relatively smoothly. Got free lunch at work, from making a sale yesterday of some cer-wool cloth, made $5 bucks for the company, profit of really about 2.86 but hey my boss was pretty pumped so he bought pizza. Can't turn down free lunch, especially when I wasn't going to eat anything until I got home anyway. Came home worked on some French with rosetta stone. Not being in school sucks, which is the reason I'm really doing this whole rosetta stone thing, keep my mind occupied and learn something. Who knows maybe it'll come in handy at some point too. Took myself a good nap, and woke up a few hours later when Amanda and Seth were both already home. Amanda was making some food for dinner so again I got to eat. Amazing how this day worked out like that. At some point during dinner I decided Idiocracy was a good movie to watch for tonight, done and done. That movie is hilarious to me.

Speaking of movies, ninjavideo.net decided that the movie of the day is Trainspotting, so I'm gonna have to watch that while I fall asleep. Makes me think of Sam, and the 10,000x he's seen it. Not too much to report, excited for the weekend. Not sure why though since I don't really have much plans. Packing training with Brad tomorrow, then at least some drinks at my place afterwords and the club on Saturday morning. From there it's all up in the air, and I'm pretty much too broke to even drive out to Milwaukee for drinking with Gopher. Perhaps I'll be able to convince people to come hang at my place.

No News is Good News... Right?

So I'm more or less broke. Rent was due, and my last check more or less got decimated by that fact. After the exciting weekend I had, I'm now just trying to make it to next Wednesday when I get paid. Life isn't too bad though, I've been catching up on sleep a bit these last few days. I've also started working on learning French through Rosetta Stone, and it seems like it may work fairly well. A few nights in will probably be good for me, and make it possible for me to get good and crazy next week. Big plans for next week, since I've got a few friends turning 21 and that poses promising prospects. Tomorrow I'm planning on hitting up SkyKnights to help Brad learn how to pack tandems, a good distraction for a Friday night when I don't have the money to go out. Not to mention I'm not supposed to be in the main area of the house Friday afternoon/night, because Amanda is having a girls only party.

All in all not a very exciting week thus far, but at least nothing bad has happened. No news is good news right? Things will hopefully pick up next week, and perhaps even this weekend. If there's good weather I'll be able to jump at least since there's money on my jump account. Here's hoping for good weather!

Whirlyball and Skydiving

The weekend. Friday night, oh what a night. A reunion even. Went out with Heather, met her and one of her friends J (Jayce) at the bar where J works. Then from there got a couple free drinks and headed up to the east side for a house party type deal. Where I met J's boyfriend and his roommate, two guys who I happened to been pretty cool with the beginning of my freshman year at UW-Milwaukee. A reunion of sorts and a shit show in and of itself. Got plenty hammered and then walked back to Quinn (J's boyfriend) and Max's.

Breakfast the next morning at panera consisted of a smoothy for me, (I'm so damn broke!) and some other crapola for J, Heather, and Max (Quinn was at work by the time we actually got up for breakfast). Hit up the dropzone for a short while, where nothing was going on, overcast prevented jumping and the office work was fairly minimal. Hit up the home front to meet up with Amanda and Seth for whirlyball (and to shower before our departure). I rode with Amanda and am somehow still alive, after passing some guy who decided to drive way too slow on the one lane country roads, and then oncomming traffic nearly killed us when Amanda decided to pass him. Seth drove on his lonesome, since he went out with some friends after whirlyball. We got to the whirlyball bar (it's in Vernon Hills, IL) around 6 or so ready to surprise Raven, and Andy for their birthdays.

For those of you who have never heard of whirlyball (like myself until this outing was planned) it is a good fun game, where you drive around in a bumper car, you have a plastic in-line glove throwing thing, and try to get a whiffle ball into a vertical net. I didn't manage to score any points in the four games I played (it's hard to make a shot in all four games there were probably 4 completed shots), but I did manage to ram Andy good for his birthday and get a couple of good whacks on other people with my in-line glove thing. Yes, yes I'm a ruthless competitive person I know.

After an evening of drinking at whirlyball, sneaking out to the parking lot to drink the whiskey I brought (again I'm poor, and that's just much cheeper), and great conversation with all my skydiving friends. Amanda, Sean, and myself headed back to our place, with a detour to Woodman's for quesadilla makings. Sean and I had a nice frisbee match with some stiff tortilla shells, hid 2 lbs of ground beef in the cheese section when Amanda decided she wanted steak not beef quesadillas. We then finally got home, where Lindsay, Brian, and Adam were waiting for us, since our 20 minute detour to get the food forced them to wait 20 minutes in our driveway. Whoops. Made it up to them with delicious drunken quesadillas. Hung out, eating and talking, and I was working on the 5x5x5 professor's cube which I got down to 3 pieces being flipped when they finally decided to leave. I solved the puzzle and watched some Big Bang theory then fell asleep on the couch, too lazy to go upstairs and actually get some sleep.

I woke up Sunday morning and didn't even realize it was as amazing outside as it was. Plugged in my phone and hopped on my computer for a few minutes. Turned my phone on and got a text message from Brad reading "You're missing out on making money you jackass", code for 'get your ass to the dz and pack some parachutes dickweed', yeah our codes aren't very subtle, except when brad uses baseball signs, then you never know what he means, except when you do. I managed to get a jump in with Shue, and Sean. It went . . . alright, we turned like 3 or 4 points, but I was flying a little haphazardly, then again I've only jumped like 6 times in the last 6 months so I'm going to blame it on that. A slight breeze kept me from getting back to the landing area, which really sucked since it was freezing cold outside, about 20 degrees, 10 or so when we exited the plane, and I had some nice thin summer jumping gloves only. I landed on the other side of the runway, with freezing hands and a parachute that wouldn't stop blowing around. I picked it up as quickly as I could, without being able to feel my fingers and walked back into the clubhouse, which took way too long. After getting off my gear, and running my hands under some warm water for a minute I was ready to rock 'n' roll again. The only problem was I had 6 step-throughs in my rig and spent 20 minutes trying to sort it out, which just resulted in me getting made fun of being a packer who couldn't even sort out his own rig. I got it good and tangled though. Packed up my rig and helped train Steve, Mur's friend from work who wants to start skydiving and is going to pack to pay for it. He made some good improvements and after a few hours I packed up my crap and headed to Lindsay and Jill's for dinner with them and Shue. Fell asleep hanging out there on the couch, then went home. Took a shower, and went to bed.

Sleepless nights are always fun, but I thankfully did get a few hours of sleep in. Ended up watching six or seven episodes of The Big Bang Theory, before finally nodding off to sleep for the night. Woke up once in the middle of the night with some crazy dream where I had more or less a back ally transplant of some of my leg muscles to someone else, which resulted in two huge cuts down my left leg. Spent a couple of minutes after I woke up making sure my leg wasn't actually cut then fell back asleep. Woke up to my alarm after it went off for a while and got ready for work.

All in all another fun weekend, this week will be pretty boring, since I've got no spare money to spend, but it looks like I'll be able to work a full 8 hours today since Stacy's son has an ear infection. So that sucks for him, but it's nice for me because I can use the money next week when I get paid.
